Best CPUs for RTX 3090 Graphics card

The RTX 3090 is the replacement for the RTX titan that launched along with the RTX 2000 series last year. Best CPUs for RTX 3090 Graphics card without Bottleneck. As the demand for the RTX titan has grown in the past and due to the shortage of availability Nvidia this time around has chosen to remove the titan badge and rename it the RTX 3090. The RTX Titan has around 20% more CUDA cores and 2.5 times more memory than the RTX 3080 making it the most powerful graphic card currently.

The RTX 3090 is the replacement for the RTX titan that launched along with the RTX 2000 series last year. As the demand for the RTX titan has grown in the past and due to the shortage of availability Nvidia this time around has chosen to remove the titan badge and rename it the RTX 3090. The RTX Titan has around 20% more CUDA cores and 2.5 times more Tensor cores than the GTX 1080 Ti, so it is positioned as a professional graphics card not as much as a gaming card. This also means that we will see a lot fewer custom cooling designs from AIO water blocks.

It is great to see that Nvidia has managed to continue pushing on the RTX 20-series by releasing the RTX 3090. In fact, the RTX3090 now sits as the most powerful card in Nvidia’s current lineup. It is this availability that has pushed us over to do a new post on this product.

The RTX 3090 is a desktop version of the Volta architecture (2080). If you want to know how much better the 2080TI over 2080 is, the numbers are better by about 25%. You need a strong CPU to run all of your GPUs.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the new features that Nvidia introduced with their recent release of the 20 series GPUs. A lot of these new additions were being teased before launch but it’s great to see them debut. I will be doing a complete write-up of the RTX 2080 shortly but for now, I wanted to talk about my first impressions of the RTX Titan graphics card. The previous generation titan cards have always been named after Roman numeral letters, e.g TItanBlack, TitanX, or GTX 1080Ti.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X – Best high end CPU for RTX 3090

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core, 24-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is the best high-end processor for RTX graphics cards. It offers 20% higher performance than the previous generation Intel Core i9-9980XE in ultrafast frequency 2600 Mhz and you can overclock it up to 4200Mhz!

The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is the best high-end CPU for RTX cards and professional 4K and 5K and extreme gaming. The 5900X is a direct successor to the 2700X and with 3 more cores, has incredible multi-processing ability. With a base clock of 3.5 GHz, an all-core boost of 4.4 GHz for the 2950X, and a boost of 5GHz for single-core performance, the X series shows that it can manage enthusiast workstation applications while retaining excellent graphical performance in the games you play.

The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is a beast of a processor. With 12 cores and 24 threads, this new X series from AMD brings the performance. Not only does it bring the performance, but it also brings the features. This new processor now has PCIe 4.0 support, meaning there will be PCI e lanes to use for more graphics cards or other device connectivity. The base clock speed is 3.5 GHz with a turbo up to 4.7 GHz. This is a great CPU and should be something any high-end gamer really takes a look at if they are building a high-end system.

If you are building a top-end gaming rig, I would recommend the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. For under $1,000, you get 12 physical cores (24 threads) with a base clock speed of 3.5Ghz and boost to 4.6Ghz. When coupled with the new RTX card from NVIDIA, it will chew through any game you throw at it at insane framerates and resolutions.  I would not pair this CPU with anything slower than a 1750/1950X processor from AMD because there is only a 200Mhz difference in their base clock speeds.

The flagship AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor is now upon us taking us into the new enthusiast era of processors. The need for CPUs that can address more than 32GB of memory and have more cores and threads continues to grow with new game releases. With the introduction of Intel’s 28-core processor, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X will match or beat the performance in some situations for less cost.

The Ryzen 9 is a high-end CPU from AMD that has been built for the user who requires heavy performing work and graphics processing. Features of the 5900X include 12 cores and 24 threads, 24.3 MB L3 cache, 64 PCIe lanes supported, as well as measures 45 mm by 95 mm by 72 mm in size.

The first thing that comes to mind when you see the Ryzen 9 5900X is that it is literally giant. There’s no way around it, if there is ever a CPU that is “gigantic” with undeniable “bigger than life” it will be AMD’s new Ryzen 9 CPU. It features 32 cores and 64 threads, which means it will absolutely destroy anything else in terms of processing power on the market today.

Things to Consider before buying a CPU for the RTX 3090

There are many factors you should consider before buying a CPU for the RTX 3090 and I’ll cover the most important ones in this article. You might also be tempted to buy one of the top-selling CPUs, but there are downsides that you might not know yet. So let me help you get ready to make the right decision.

Several weeks ago I was in the market for a new CPU. Intel’s Z390 platform had just launched and it was time to upgrade my trusty old X99 motherboard. I was also looking forward to trying out the Intel 9th Generation i9-9900K and seeing if this beast of a processor could justify its lofty price tag. I didn’t get around to getting this CPU as because of some delays at the manufacturer end, I went ahead and bought an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X instead.

Number of CPU cores Required

The number of cores required is the first thing that you should consider. Automated rocket landing, video encoding, and other applications which are memory intensive could be beneficial for a CPU with a high core count.

You should always go for more cores. More cores mean more efficiency. No performance, no matter how much your graphics card improves, will ever matter if you have a weak CPU. The more CPU cores you have the better performances will be at generally everything. For example, video editing, working with 3D applications, or video games that are capable of utilizing multiple cores (most games don’t do this but still!).

Motherboard compatibility

The first thing you have to do is to make sure if your motherboard is compatible with the RTX 3090. So what I did is that I asked for a recommendation on what motherboard to pair it up with. But mostly, it is important to have a processor socket type that is already supported by the video card. So I am going to take one of the latest motherboards from GIGABYTE, the Aorus Z590 Gaming X. This board also comes with support for Intel Core processors.

The AMD ryzen 5950x is a CPU from AMD’s X570 series, based on their adrenalin 2019 platform, the most powerful in the market at the time of writing. Running at 3.5 GHz to 4.6 GHz speeds with 12 threads, this processor offers an enormous amount of computing power for any task you can throw at it, a perfect CPU for a gaming pc build that will be used for years to come.

CPU Rated TDP

Some benchmarks report that the latest AMD ryzen 9 5950X CPU is significantly faster than intel i9 11900K and core i9 9900k and the only difference is that it has a higher RDP – 125w vs 91w.

Comparing the TDP, the AMD Ryzen 9 5950x has a lower TDP than the i9 11900k. But keep in mind that we are comparing a 17 core processor with a 12 core processor. We want to make sure that both processors will have sufficient cooling when overclocked. Here is the actual CPU comparison as explained by Digital Trends.

When choosing a processor, the TDP of the chip is a massive factor. The higher the TDP, the more heat is generated and subsequently, the more cooling you will require. A 90W for example something like an i5 will run fine with a 240mm AIO but that extra 10W would require needing a 360mm or larger loop to keep it cool as it would have a lot more problems reaching temperatures under load than its lower-powered siblings.
